A specialist does not need you to teach him his own disease area. He needs you to be precise.
Many reps walk into a specialist's clinic with the same energy they bring to a GP. Big claims, broad statements, quick slides. The specialist hears every word that goes beyond the data, and he remembers it.
What changes with an expert in front of you:
- Not "the best treatment". Instead: "In this trial, in these patients, this was the result."
- Not only the headline. Know the population, the endpoints and the limitations.
- Not a guess. "I do not know, Doctor. I will bring you the answer."
- Not a lecture. Ask how he applies the evidence to his own patients.
Humility here is not weakness. It is what makes a specialist trust the next thing you say. And every study you use must come from approved material, with off-label questions routed to medical affairs.
“With a specialist, precision is respect. Overclaiming is the fastest way out of his clinic.”
