Recovering a bad week

Four moves that stop the slide before it becomes a month

A bad week does not hurt your numbers much. The week after it does.

Every rep has one. Doctors cancel, calls go flat and nothing lands. The mistake I see most is what comes next: a Monday built on panic, with double the call list and half the preparation.

Four moves I coach instead:

  • 1. State the facts. Write down what happened in facts, not feelings. A bad week is data, not a verdict.
  • 2. Find one cause. Look at which doctors, which message, which days. Usually it is one thing, not everything.
  • 3. Book sure calls first. Start Monday with doctors who welcome you. Momentum first, ambition second.
  • 4. Tell your manager first. Share the cause and your plan before he asks. Early bad news earns respect.

Step three is the one most reps skip. They go straight for the hardest doctor to prove something, and the slide continues.

“A bad week becomes a bad month only when you repeat it.”
